Moveon.org Issues Warning to Democrats Opposed to "Public Option"

Moveon.org Issues Warning to Democrats Opposed to 'Public Option' - Political News - FOXNews.com

Moveon.org issued a warning Tuesday to any Democrat who might join Republicans to filibuster a government-run insurance option -- if you oppose the government option you will lose support from the organization's 5 million members

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid announced Monday that the Senate's version of a health care reform bill will include a so-called public option. Moveon.org issued its e-mail to its supporters threatening revolt one day later.

This doesn't surprise me at all. I figure that this would happen.

Reid Hits Roadblocks in Bid to Pass Health Bill With Government Insurance Plan - Political News - FOXNews.com

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid was struggling Tuesday to drum up the support necessary to pass a health care reform bill that includes a government insurance plan, with key moderate Democrats backing away from the package ahead of a crucial vote.

Independent Democratic Sen. Joe Lieberman said Tuesday that he would support a Republican filibuster against the bill unless it's changed. Key Democratic moderates including Sens. Evan Bayh, D-Ind.; Ben Nelson, D-Neb.; and Blanche Lincoln, D-Ark., also said they were uncertain how they'd vote, expressing deep reservations about the public plan.

Lawmakers Eye Untapped Stimulus Funds as Obama Proposes New Spending

Lawmakers Eye Untapped Stimulus Funds as Obama Proposes New Spending - Political News - FOXNews.com

With the bulk of the $787 billion stimulus package still unspent, some lawmakers say, President Obama should not be adding yet another $13 billion to the deficit by funding a one-time $250 Social Security payment.
The complaints are coming from Republicans, who see last February's recovery act as a fiscal blunder that has failed to stem rising unemployment. In some cases, such as the Social Security checks, they see the pot of money still waiting to be spent as a way to head off additional deficit spending in other areas.

I can tell you from personal experience that the stimulus package did nothing for me. I'm still unemployed and am looking for something during the holidays.

Senators Raid Troop Funding for Pet Projects, Watchdog Groups Say

Senators Raid Troop Funding for Pet Projects, Watchdog Groups Say - Political News - FOXNews.com

Senators are raiding money meant to pay for troops in Iraq and Afghanistan so they can fund pet projects in their home districts, taxpayer watchdog groups charged this week.

Data compiled by the organizations show that senators attached 778 earmarks worth nearly $2.7 billion to the 2010 defense appropriations bill.

With the economy the way it is and the earmarks already added to other bills such as the stimulus package, Congress has the nerve to seek more and more money for their districts. I guess they are afraid that their voters will not re-elect them after pushing through the current health care reform.

Republicans don't have to worry too much during the next elections. The Democrats are doing a great job in killing their party.

Liberals Increasingly Frustrated With Obama's Style and Performance

Liberals Increasingly Frustrated With Obama's Style and Performance - Political News - FOXNews.com

In recent weeks, President Obama has faced increasingly sharp criticism of his style and performance from an unlikely quarter: liberals.
Liberal commentators from Saturday Night Live comedians to newspaper columnists to leftist bloggers to gay rights activists have been portraying Obama as a do-nothing president and "whiner-in-chief," expressing a growing concern that the commander in chief is not showing enough spine.

This is a very interesting turn of events.

Insurer Changes Mind: Fat Baby to Get Health Coverage

Insurer Changes Mind: Fat Baby to Get Health Coverage - Children's Health - FOXNews.com

A Colorado insurance company is changing its attitude about fat babies.
Rocky Mountain Health Plans said it will no longer consider obesity a "pre-existing condition" barring coverage for hefty infants. The change comes after the insurer turned down a Grand Junction 4-month-old who weighs about 17 pounds. The insurer deemed Alex Lange obese and said the infant didn't qualify for coverage.

17-Pound, 4-Month-Old Baby Denied Health Insurance for Being Too Fat

17-Pound, 4-Month-Old Baby Denied Health Insurance for Being Too Fat - Children's Health - FOXNews.com

Nothing brings a smile to an adult's face quicker than the sight of a happy, chubby baby.
But the sight of 4-month-old Alex Lange, who measures 25-inches long and weighs 17 pounds, is bringing a frown to the hypothetical face of insurance company Rocky Mountain Health Plans, The Denver Post reported on its Web site Monday.

The biggest issue is the fact that health insurance companies will not even try to cover people. They want to insure only those who are in perfect health so they can collect the premiums. Health insurance companies push and will continue to push people with pre-existing conditions to state high-risk pools. The premiums in those programs are higher than the highest premiums of the health insurance companies.

I still believe that tort reform is needed in a major way when it comes to medical lawsuits. If the doctor or hospital has done something criminally wrong, then I say throw the book at them. But, if the doctor and hospital have done everything humanly possible, then we don't sue. Doctors and hospitals can only do so much. There are 2 rules in medicine.

1. People die.
2. Doctors, no matter how hard they try or what they do, can't change rule #1.

Obama's Health Plan Offers Medicare Cuts, Tax Increases First, Benefits Later

Obama's Health Plan Offers Medicare Cuts, Tax Increases First, Benefits Later - Political News - FOXNews.com

Sixty years is how long Democrats say they've been pushing for legislation that provides health care access for all Americans. They'll have to wait another three if President Obama gets a bill to sign this year.

Under the Democratic bills, federal tax credits to help make health insurance affordable for millions of low- and middle-income households won't start flowing until 2013 -- after the next presidential election. But Medicare cuts and a sizable chunk of the tax increases to pay for the overhaul kick in immediately.

Obama's Nobel Is Premature, Historians and Political Scientists Say

Obama's Nobel Is Premature, Historians and Political Scientists Say - Political News - FOXNews.com

Giving President Obama the Nobel Peace Prize is a "premature canonization" and an "embarrassment" to the process of designating a laureate, a presidential historian says.
"The jury is still out as to what his presidency is going to add up to," Fred Greenstein, author and professor of politics emeritus at Princeton University, told FOXNews.com.

CNN's own polls show that 57% of those polled believe that President Obama should not have received the prize. He took office 2 weeks prior to the deadline to submit candidates.

Honestly, what has he done to deserve this award? I know I will receive a lot of emails for my comments. But, I honestly ask you to provide me with a list of achievements has he done to merit this prestigious award.

Senate Health Bill Imposes $29B More in Taxes

WASHINGTON -- California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger praised President Barack Obama's drive to overhaul the nation's health care system on Tuesday and urged fellow Republicans to join in efforts to finish the job this year.
The new Republican support for Obama's top domestic priority came as a potential setback emerged for Senate health legislation: Congressional tax experts reported that the bill would impose $29 billion more in taxes on health care industries than originally thought -- levies that could be passed on to consumers in the form of higher premiums.

By placing more taxes on corporations, the consumer will ultimately have to pay more for the goods and services that being taxed. When you get right down to it, you will either pay the government for health care or government via increased prices by corporations who are being taxed.
In either case, the government will get its money and the those in elected office can say without hesitation, "I didn't raise taxes on the consumers."

$5 Million Embezzlement Report "Completely False" ACORN CEO Says

$5 Million Embezzlement Report 'Completely False,' ACORN CEO Says - Political News - FOXNews.com

ACORN's embattled CEO emphatically disputed on Tuesday a report by the organization's board of directors that $5 million was embezzled from the group, calling it "completely false." Bertha Lewis said the $5 million figure came from two former "disgruntled" directors who had since been voted off the organization's board.

Still more issues.

Bills to Defund ACORN Face Legal Hurdles, Experts Say - Political News - FOXNews.com

Bills to Defund ACORN Face Legal Hurdles, Experts Say - Political News - FOXNews.com

Despite overwhelming support in Congress, the effort to turn off the federal spigot that funds ACORN may be facing constitutional and political roadblocks.
In an effort spearheaded by Republicans, the House and Senate voted earlier this month to sever ACORN's federal funding after a series of undercover videos showed some of the group's employees offering advice to a couple posing as a pimp and prostitute on how to skirt tax and immigration laws.
But some legal experts say that the provisions of the bills may be unconstitutional. And the House bill in particular, they say, risks alienating defense contractors, who are longtime allies of Republicans.

Do you believe this?
