Affordable Care Act on Life Support

When the enrollment period for the Affordable Care Act starts next week, customers to the exchanges will be shocked to find that they have fewer choices and higher prices.

In Pennsylvania, the number of insurer has dwindled down from 13 to 8 and premiums are expected to rise 53%.

According to Aetna Inc. Chief Executive Officer Mark Bertolini, "As the rates rise, the healthier people pull out because the out-of-pocket costs aren’t worth it."

Given that, premiums are going up an average of 25% for next year. In Arizona alone, premiums are skyrocketing by a whopping 116%.

The American voter seems to have a very short memory. Here are a couple of items you should consider when you vote.

1. MIT economist Jonathan Gruber, the architect of Obamacare, mocking "the stupidity of the American voter" for not understanding the "true cost" of the Affordable Care Act.

2. President Obama PROMISING to lower health insurance premiums by $2,500 per year. Instead health insurance premiums climbed by 4.2% on average. Virginia, for example, will see its premiums jump between 3% and 67%. Listen to his own words. Think about it.

3. President Obama: 'If you like your health care plan, you'll be able to keep your health care plan." Also, do you remember the other promise of being able to keep your doctor? Just to refresh your memory. "First of all, if you've got health insurance, you like your doctor, you like your plan - you can keep your doctor, you can keep your plan. Nobody is talking about taking that away from you."
President Barack Obama - 7/16/2009

More Red as the Budget Balloons

As the government completes fiscal 2016, the budget deficit was $587 billion dollars. This is a 34% spike over last year's budget deficit. That means that the government borrowed 15 cents for every dollar spent. Government spending went up almost 5% to $3.9 trillion with revenues staying flat at $3.3 trillion.

According to the Congressional Budget Office, the deficits for the next several years will be $600 billion. This represents 3% of the economy. Although economists say this is bearable, these deficits will slow down growth.

Each year we hear the same thing over and over. The wealthy need to pay more in taxes. Why? So, the government can provide funding for college tuition subsidies, infrastructure and expansion of the Affordable Care Act.

We cannot afford reckless spending by our government. Fiscal responsibility is something that is lacking in our government and it is time that the American voter act. Enough with all of this spending.

"UN" Affordable Care Act

Remember when President Obama made a joke about the Stimulus package. He said that the shovel-ready jobs weren't as shovel-ready as everyone thought.

Well, guess what. The Affordable Care Act is not as affordable as everyone was led to believe. The entire act was predicated on having young, healthy people join to keep premiums low. It did not happen.

According to a recent Bloomberg article, 1.4 million people in 32 states will lose their healthcare coverage. This is largely caused by Aetna Inc., UnitedHealth Group and other insurers quitting the healthcare exchanges.

Do you remember the promises that were made on how the Affordable Care Act would save families $2,500 per year and that you could keep your doctor?

Time to Clean House, America!

America, it is time to clean house and get things in order. With the Presidential election coming up this year, it is time that we take back our government.

I call on all patriots of this great nation to vote out all of the incumbents who have failed their promises of being good stewards of our money and smaller, less-intrusive government.

Each year, I hear the same thing over and over. Why can't our elected officials do this or why can't they do that. I will tell you why, fellow patriot. Because they do not care about anything except for one thing, their re-election.

Think about it. Once they have been elected, most turn it into a career and they enjoy the power that they have. They no longer act as our servants. They expect us to be theirs.

It is time we do something about it. Each election cycle, we do the same thing. We just simply vote them back into office and we expect things to change. If you honestly believe that we get a different outcome by doing the same thing over and over, then be my guest. Continue to re-elect these people back and stop whining. Remember, they are counting on you to act mindlessly and vote them back into office so they can enjoy the fruits of OUR labor. More taxes. More government. Less accountability.

Look for candidates who will not be swayed by lobbyists. Look for candidates who will listen to the people. Look for the candidates who want a smaller, less-intrusive government. Look for the candidates who will act as stewards of our tax money. If that candidate is elected, he or she is our servant and is to do what is needed to keep our nation strong.

TIME TO CLEAN HOUSE, AMERICA!

Interesting Cartoon But So True

This morning my wife told me about a cartoon that she had seen on Facebook. She described it to me. There were three students sitting on a bench waiting to speak to the principal. Each asked the others why they were there to see the principal.

One said, "The teacher sent me to the principal's office for praying."

Another said, "My teacher sent me to the office for saying the Pledge of Alliance."

The last said, "I got sent to the principal's office for saying, 'Merry Christmas.'"

Has our nation fallen so far away from our principles and values. The Political Correct police will continue to find ways to remove our religious freedoms from our schools, institutions of higher learning and our homes.

Why have we remained idle and not done anything about it? Are we that afraid?

As Christians, we need to stand up. We should be praying for a nationwide revival to stir the souls of each of us and return us to God and seek His forgiveness.

Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14
