FOXNews.com - 3 Democrats Drop Plans to Seek Re-election
Taken together, the decisions by Senators Chris Dodd of Connecticut and Byron Dorgan of North Dakota as well as Colorado Governor Bill Ritter caused another bout of heartburn for Democrats as they struggle to defend themselves in a sour political environment for incumbents, particularly the party in charge.
I think the Democrats are in trouble and they know it. Senator Arlen Specter, D-PA, will probably swap parties again and become a Republican.

As an American, I have witnessed many events in our nation's history. Some of them great like placing a man on the moon. Some of them were dark and shameful events. No matter what happened, it is the people that make this nation great. Each looking to the future with optimism and looking to improve this nation for all. The United States is a great and wonderful nation and her people are her best asset. As Americans, we need to stand together and let our voices be heard.

U.S. Health Spending Growth Falls to Slowest Rate in Half a Century, Study Finds
U.S. Health Spending Growth Falls to Slowest Rate in Half a Century, Study Finds - FOXBusiness.com
With 10% unemployment and 7% underemployed, I can see why health spending cut back. If it weren't for my doctor and his staff taking care of my family's needs at cost or less, I don't know what I would have done.

New Home Sales Fall Sharply in November - FOXBusiness.com
Hopes for a strong recovery in the housing market were dealt a blow on Wednesday when the government said new home sales unexpectedly tumbled in November, taking their steepest decline since the darkest days of the recession amid uncertainty over the extension of a federal tax credit.

The Price Is Right? Payoffs for Senators Typical in Health Care Bill
FOXNews.com - The Price Is Right? Payoffs for Senators Typical in Health Care Bill
Sen. Ben Nelson's hardly the only lawmaker extracting sweetheart deals out of the health care reform bill.
While the Nebraska Democrat got a particularly juicy concession in exchange for a "yes" vote on the 10-year, $871 billion package -- permanent and full federal aid for his state's expanded Medicaid population -- support from a slew of other senators likewise came with a price.
Western states got more money for hospitals that serve Medicare patients. Louisiana got up to $300 million in Medicaid benefits. The list goes on.

PETA Shocker
PETA decides to shock their audiences with a Thanksgiving TV commercial and an ad for adopting pets. I am very disappointed with them. Granted, I'm not a PETA supporter, but I think they can present their case in a better way.

White House Crashers Won't Testify, Could Face Subpoenas
FOXNews.com - White House Crashers Won't Testify, Could Face Subpoenas
House lawmakers want answers in a hearing Thursday about how the Salahis managed to sail through security checkpoints while their names were not on a list of approved guests for the dinner.
I guess Congress will spend most of its time prior to the Christmas break dealing with this rather than debating something important. This situation is an embarrassment to the White House, the Pentagon and the Secret Service. Instead of letting this go and enforcing the current process, we are spending day after day dealing with this.
