The FBI Bank Robbery Task Force needs your help identifying a bank robber dubbed the “Abe Lincoln Bandit.” The man, sporting a long, Abraham Lincoln-like beard, robbed the Wells Fargo Bank located at 11102 Scarsdale in Houston, Texas, on June 30, 2012. Surveillance photos are below.
At approximately 11:35 a.m., the man entered the bank and handed a teller a threatening note demanding money. After passing the note, he lifted his shirt to display a pistol packed in his waistband. The man got a very small amount of cash—less than $100. He left the bank on foot. No one was physically hurt during the robbery.
The Abe Lincoln Bandit was described as a white male, 5’9” to 5’11” tall, 180-210 pounds, with dark brown hair and a dark brown, long, Abraham Lincoln-like beard. He wore a dark cap and a dark shirt with white stripes.
Crime Stoppers is offering up to $5,000.00 for information leading to the charging and arrest of these robbers. If you have information about this case, please call the Crime Stoppers tip line at 713-222-TIPS (8477) or the Houston Office of the FBI at 713-693-5000.
As an American, I have witnessed many events in our nation's history. Some of them great like placing a man on the moon. Some of them were dark and shameful events. No matter what happened, it is the people that make this nation great. Each looking to the future with optimism and looking to improve this nation for all. The United States is a great and wonderful nation and her people are her best asset. As Americans, we need to stand together and let our voices be heard.
