Senators Raid Troop Funding for Pet Projects, Watchdog Groups Say

Senators Raid Troop Funding for Pet Projects, Watchdog Groups Say - Political News - FOXNews.com

Senators are raiding money meant to pay for troops in Iraq and Afghanistan so they can fund pet projects in their home districts, taxpayer watchdog groups charged this week.

Data compiled by the organizations show that senators attached 778 earmarks worth nearly $2.7 billion to the 2010 defense appropriations bill.

With the economy the way it is and the earmarks already added to other bills such as the stimulus package, Congress has the nerve to seek more and more money for their districts. I guess they are afraid that their voters will not re-elect them after pushing through the current health care reform.

Republicans don't have to worry too much during the next elections. The Democrats are doing a great job in killing their party.
