Convicted Killer Got Unemployment While in LA Jail

Anthony "Chopper" Garcia received more than $30,000 in fraudulent unemployment benefits while in the Los Angeles County Jail from 2008 to 2010. Garcia, a convicted murderer, gained notoriety for having a murder scene tattooed on his chest. He was convicted in 2004 for the murder of Pico Rivera, a rival gang member. The tattoo of the murder scene was used as evidence against him in the trial.

In order to make this scheme work, Garcia had his father and 2 girlfriends cash his unemployment checks and deposit the cash into his inmate account as well as the accounts of his fellow gang members.

Garcia's father, Juan Garcia, 47, and his girlfriends, Sandra Jaimez, 45, and Cynthia Limas, 25, have been charged with grand theft.
