NYPD Officers Injured During "National Day of Direct Action"

Two New York Police Department officers were injured as the "Occupy Wall Street" protesters marched through lower Manhattan as part of their "National Day of Direct Action".

This protest march was organized to shut down Wall Street by taking their message to the people.

In clashes with police, two officers were injured. One officer's thumb was cut when a sharp object was thrown at him. Another officer had some sort of irritant thrown in his eyes. He was taken to Bellevue Hospital to have his eyes flushed.

Roughly one hundred people were arrested.
